Safety
The safety of our trainees is paramount.
Working with trusted local PPS Egypt we actively manage risk to make your trip as safe as possible. We ask our trainees to also participate in this effort, as individual behavior is the most critical component to managing risk when traveling.
Our Practices
Our risk management protocols include
- Obtaining detailed health information about each participant to ensure we are abreast of any medical needs
- Providing each coach with a detailed safety manual
- Obtaining medical and medical evacuation insurance for all our participants
- Group leader will have an emergency cell for contact
- Providing students with emergency contact cards with key phone numbers of local support staff, local emergency services, US support lines at the local American embassy, and emergency taxi service.
- Registering all students with the American embassy.
- Maintaining a list of trusted local, English speakingbdoctors and medical services.
- Personally selecting all hotels used during the trip. Always stay in tourist-class hotels (never hostels) in sensible areas of towns during our travel.
- Operating our squash program with reputable squash clubs.
- We use trusted local transport companies during our travels within the city we visit.
- We will not operate any programs in countries currently facing a US State Department Travel Warning
Students Are Responsible For Their Safety
Reasonable and rational participant behavior is critical to ensuring a safe experience.
All PPS Egypt participants are legally minors, and are ultimately, under PPS Egypt responsibility while overseas. Participants in PPS Egypt are expected to act responsibly through out the trip. We expect participants to act in a safe and thoughtful manner.
We expect all participants to obey their coaches at all times. PPS Egypt reserves the right to remove participants from the program if we think their irresponsible actions undermine their safety, and the safety of other members of the group.
We encourage students and parents to have in-depth discussions about safety before and during the period spent abroad.
